Golden Valley Christian Church
Genesis 1:1 says, "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." This is not idle talk, but reality, to the devout Christian. A little over two weeks ago, the people on earth enjoyed a wondrous sight that occurs this time every year. If you could get away from the city lights, you could have witnessed the Perseid meteor shower. The sky was filled with these "shooting stars." This is a sight to behold as the earth travels through the disintegrated remains of a comet. God's wonders still amaze us.
"Telling Others About Jesus" was the title of the message last Sunday. Bro. Tim reminded us what our true mission as a Christian is. Because we have something of great value to tell, it should be an honor to tell others about Jesus. After Jesus' death, it was difficult, even for the people most close to Jesus, to accept His resurrection. Even Thomas, known as "doubting Thomas," refused to believe, until he could put his finger in the nail prints on Jesus' body. When this eventually happened, Thomas exclaimed, "My Lord and my God." If we do our job in telling and convincing others of this great truth, our church pews will be full.
The Bible challenge question is: "What was the rumor concerning the apostle John's (the disciple whom Jesus loved) death?" (John 21:19-23)
