Golden Valley Christian Church

The Golden Valley Christian Church Vacation Bible School is over, and what a tremendous experience it was for the children and helpers alike! Sundaymorning, the congregation was given a review of what the children experienced. Chris and Abby Rush were terrific as "scientists," using scientific experiments to help the children understand how God, sin, and earthly people are connected. There were so many helpers and contributors, it would not be wise to try to list everyone, for fear of leaving one out. However, Melynne Jones needs recognition for the wonderful job that she did as the director. Even in a small church, VBS is a lot of work. Everyone's help was greatly appreciated!

Once again, the GVCC family is saddened by death. We extend our sincere condolences to one of our attendees, Frances Burris, at the death of her husband, Don, who resided at the Warrensburg Veterans Home. Thankfully, Don is now at peace, after so many months of illness.

The message last Sunday was entitled "Jacob's Example," with scripture from Genesis 48:1-11. Jacob was called the "deceiver" because of his earlier behavior. However, he was a provider for his large family, and he became quite wealthy. Even with his imperfections, God blessed Jacob. All of us make mistakes and bad judgments at times, but we should learn from them.

The Bible challenge question: How many direct descendants of Jacob relocated in Egypt? (Gen 46:27)
