There is a story of a little third grade boy who was asked, by his teacher, to write an essay about the human body. In words only a third grader would use, the boy carefully described each part of the body, down to the feet, ending with these two last sentences: "Your feet are what you run on, and your toes are always what get stubbed. And that is all of what there is of you, except what's inside, and I never saw that." Sometimes, we don't think of what is inside us, including the way we treat others and how we serve the Lord. Maybe we should be aware of that more often.
Vacation Bible School will soon be here, and the Golden Valley Christian Church is making preparations for this event. The study of "The Story" concluded this past Sunday, and we are now focusing on new studies. Bro. Tim's final message from "The Story" was on the book of Revelation. This is one of the more difficult books in the Bible to understand, but there definitely is a message in it. The book paints pictures, telling us what is going to happen before it does. It tells us Jesus will come back as a triumphant Savior. God has promised us a new heaven and new earth, and He has provided a way for us to be redeemed. He will make all things right, and we know God loves us. It is no wonder the Apostle John writes, "Come, Lord Jesus." (Rev. 22:20)
The Bible challenge question is: "What is the Lord God's description of Himself?'" (Rev. 1:8)
