Golden Valley Christian Church

Each week this article contains a Bible question.  The point of the question is to encourage the readers to read the Bible.  Knowing the Bible is essential in doing God's will.  However, just knowing the scriptures and answering trivia questions does not make anyone a devout follower of Jesus.  Being a devout Christian means knowing the scriptures and putting that knowledge into action, obeying God's mandates.  Even Satan can recite scripture.

Sunday was a beautiful day to worship our Lord and also be blessed with a beautiful old-time favorite, "Amazing Grace," sung by Georgia Randall.  The small things in life often give us the most pleasure.  In that vein of thought, "Something So Small" was the title of Bro. Tim's message, taken from Luke 13, about the parable of the mustard seed.  Although it is a tiny little seed, the one Jesus talked about grows into a tree large enough for birds to perch on.  This is likened to the power of the Church that changes lives.  Jesus, in His parables, used common, ordinary things to reveal the great truths of God.  God wants us to know His words and to live by them.

The Bible challenge question is:  "What were the three things Satan tempted Jesus with?'"  (Matthew 4:1-11)
