Golden Valley Christian Church

The ultimate goal of every Christian is to live in Heaven after death. What Heaven is like, or what it looks like, can be different from person to person. A Gallup poll was taken on this subject, and it was surprising what some people think. Four percent of those polled thought Heaven would be a boring place, while ninety-one percent thought it would be peaceful. Scripture tells us Jesus will be there, and John 16:33 tells us there will be peace. Seven percent of the polled thought there would be total darkness, but scripture tells us there will not be any nights (Rev 22:5). In John 14:2, Jesus tells us there will be many rooms, and Rev 22:1-2 tells us of a beautiful river flowing down the middle of the city. Best of all, we will be face-to-face with God, and there will no longer be any kind of pain or suffering.

The GV Charity Crafters continue to meet at 10:00 AM on Tuesdays, and Bible study is at 7:00 PM on Wednesdays.

Bro Elmer’s message came from I Timothy 2:1-15, concerning the model behaviors of men and women in the church. Men should be prayer “warriors” in the church, demonstrating a life full of faith. They should live without anger and arguments, which diminishes their effectiveness in serving God. Women should dress modestly, with decency and propriety, doing good and helping others.
