Golden Valley Christian Church

Starting on Sunday, March 31st, the Golden Valley Christian Church held a three-day revival meeting.  A revival, as used in the Bible, means a restoration or renewal of God’s commands for His people.  The same is true today, helping believers restore their commitment to God and to strengthen their faith.  The United States has gone through a number of intense revivals during different periods of this country’s existence.  One great revival came in the late 18th and the 19th centuries.  It was in that era that the Stone-Campbell restoration movement came into existence.  The Golden Valley Christian Church is one result of this movement.  These Biblical revivals have played a large part in the history of this nation.  Our country was founded on Biblical principles.  If there was ever a time for a nationwide revival, it is now.  (Psalms 85:6-7)

One of our faithful, Monica Raysik, lost her father a few weeks ago.  Sadly, last week, Monica received word her mother had passed away, too.  The GVCC congregation extends their deepest sympathy to Monica and her family.

We were blessed immensely last Sunday morning to have guests, Sam and Linda Gibbons, each singing a solo and also, a duet.  Sunday night, our own Bob Fenwick blessed us with a musical solo; Monday night, our mixed quartet (Georgia Randall, Rosanna Cross, Ken Jones, and Bob Fenwick) sang; Tuesday night, Ken Jones sang a solo.  Bro Seth Wortman, minister at the Springfield, Missouri, Glendale Christian Church, brought the revival messages, based on the book of Jude.  This book contains only one chapter, but it has a powerful message.  Bro Seth did a great job of conveying these penned words of Jude into messages that all of us could understand.

The Bible challenge question:  What is the only miracle recorded in all four Gospels? (Mt 14:13ff; Mk 6:37ff; Luke 9:12ff; John 6:5ff)
