Golden Valley Christian Church

A story is told of a much-loved minister with the burden of a long-ago sin for which he had asked forgiveness.  In his congregation was a lady who claimed to have visions where she talked directly with Jesus.  Skeptical of her claims, the minister asked her to have Jesus tell her about the minister's sin.  A few days later, the minister met with the lady, asking her what Jesus had said about the sin.  The lady's answer was, "Jesus said He didn't remember."  When we ask forgiveness for our sins, not only will they be forgiven, but also forgotten.  Praise God, for He is so good!

The weekly women's Bible study, "Battlefield of the Mind," continues.  A new three-part video, "The Reliability of Scripture," is scheduled to begin May 13th, at 2 PM, at the church.

Bro. Tim's message was entitled "What's Next?" with scripture taken from Matthew 28:18-20.  These verses are "the great commission," a mandate for Jesus' disciples to go to the world, teaching His commands.  Jesus died on the cross for our redemption, and God wants us to make a transformation in our lives.  We are part of that great commission, and we need to be transformed from the inside out.  God does not accept a surface change, but wants a change where we will try to live our lives as nearly as possible to Jesus' example.  This is the "next" step on our road to salvation.  One day Jesus will return to take us home with Him.

The Bible challenge question is:  "How many men had married the Samaritan woman at the well?'"  (John 4:18)
