Golden Valley Christian Church

A few years ago, a magazine printed an article, "Remember When."  Some of the reminiscing included:  Do you remember . . . when there were only three TV stations, CBS, NBC, and ABC?  When men removed their hats inside a building, and people did not sue over trivial matters?  When cakes were made from "scratch," and did not come in a box, or when oleo was a block of white material and came with a yellow pill to mix with it, to make it yellow?  Time changes culture, but Jesus' words are just as relevant today as when they were first uttered, such as:  Do not steal; do not lie; love God with all your heart; love your neighbor as yourself.

Last Sunday, Golden Valley Christian Church enjoyed a wonderful basket dinner, with an Italian theme.  Everyone always pitches in and helps with these nice events.

Brother Tim's message was based on scripture from the second chapter of Acts, and entitled "What Shall We Do?"  After listening to the Apostle Peter's message, the people were cut to the heart and asked, "Brothers, what shall we do?"  Peter's answer was, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins.  And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."  There was no doubt the people already believed in Jesus. Peter's answer was quick and simple.
