Ida and David had two sons, both wanting a college education.  Because the family's resources were so limited, the sons made a pact for their education.  The older son would work two years, sending his brother to school, and then the pact would be reversed.  In time, this came to pass.  The older son wanted to go to West Point.  Both parents were devastated, not believing in "soldiering," but they withheld their fears and advice.  Imagine their immense pleasure when their son, Dwight D. Eisenhower, became a General and was later sworn in as president of the United States.  Withholding advice is sometimes the best advice.

The ladies' study of "Twelve Extraordinary Women," continues each Wednesday night in the church building at 7:00 PM.  The topic of Bro. Tim's message was entitled "No Ordinary Man."  We know, from many instances featured in the Bible, that Jesus was not just a man.  He came to this earth with a plan, a passion, and power.  His plan was to change people's hearts.  He died and was raised from the dead for this very purpose.  Jesus brought powerful messages to the people.  Even non-Christians agree the "Sermon on the Mount" has good principles.  He came to earth to teach us how we could have life more fully and abundantly.  If you have worries, anxieties, or burdens about something, turn them over to Jesus.

The Bible challenge question is:  "What abominable thing did Amaziah, King of Judah, do?'"  (II Chr 25:14-15)
