Henry David Thoreau, famous essayist and poet once wrote, "If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer."  In this world with so much hatred and evil, Christians should also hear a different drummer.  We are to be a light to the world and "shine as stars in the universe" (Phil 2:15).  Jesus came with a message of love, not hate (John 13:34).

Despite the weather, Golden Valley Christian Church held services last Sunday with a number of our faithful braving the roads to attend.  Although it doesn't seem like it, spring (at least, by the calendar) will soon be here.  Don't forget to "spring forward" with your clocks Sunday.

Bro. Tim's sermon, "Faith Is the Victory," was based on the scripture from I John 5:1-12.  Through Jesus, we are born again, and we have a relationship with God.  This is based on our belief of who Jesus is (the Son of God) and our obedience to follow God's commandments concerning the Good News of His Son.  In this relationship, we have victory in Jesus, no matter what we face in this world.

The Bible challenge question is:  "According to Jesus' teaching, what makes man unclean?'"  (Mark 7:20-23)

The Golden Valley Christian Church meets at 611 South Third Street in Clinton.  Our Sunday Bible classes begin at 9:30 AM, and morning worship is at 10:30 AM.  Our full-time minister is Bro. Tim Randall (office phone #660-890-0252), and our website is www.goldenvalleycc.org.  We are happy to invite you to attend our services, where you will always receive a warm welcome.
