How many people remember Teel toothpaste? Well, actually it was not a paste, but a liquid. It was colored either red or green and was a favorite tooth cleanser for a number of years. It came on the market in the 1930’s and was replaced by Gleem toothpaste. Our younger generation would probably have no knowledge at all of Teel, or possibly even of Gleem. However, there is one item that is still on the market and still remains a best seller; that is, the Bible—as pertinent to believers today as it was a few centuries ago. Its message never gets old or goes out of style, and guides our lives as it always has. (Isaiah 40:31)
The GVCC congregation extends its sympathy to Monica Raysik, at the recent death of her father. We pray for God’s peace on Monica and her family. Last Sunday we were blessed with a piano duet by Abrielle Jones and her grandmother, Marla Jones. There is only one more Wednesday night Bible study on 1st Peter; we always welcome those who would like to join us. GVCC will be holding a revival, starting March 31st, through April 2nd. Please mark your calendar and join us for this event.
“Do Not Be Surprised” was the title of Bro Tim’s message, from the fourth chapter of 1st Peter. One way we live for God is by having the same attitude that Jesus had for God. Attitude is one of the most important characteristics we have in our lives, and only we can change it. To be ignorant of the scriptures is to be ignorant of Christ, so we should study our Bible. We are admonished by Peter to pray, love one another, and serve. (1 Peter 4:8-11)
The Bible challenge question: What was God’s threat when the Israelites started worshiping foreign Gods? (Judges 10:13-14)
