Last Sunday evening, tens of thousands of people across the United States watched the Super Bowl, a yearly football event that started in January 1967.  The event this year pitted the Las Angeles Rams against the New England Patriots.  Sadly for the Rams, one of their star players, Cooper Kupp, sat on the sidelines due to an earlier injury.  Kupp’s dream was to play in the Super Bowl; unfortunately, the injury prevented that dream from materializing.  Cooper Kupp was not only a star for the Rams, but is a staunch believer in God.  The entire Kupp family, from grandparents, Jake and Carla Kupp, down through the grandchildren, have a close relationship with God.  Acknowledging his strong belief, Cooper said, “This is where my fuel comes from.  Everything I do is to glorify God.”  (1 Cor 10:31)

Golden Valley Christian Church will be starting a new midweek Bible study the week of February 17th, on First Peter.  For Valentine’s Day fun, attendees are asked to bring their wedding pictures for display on February 10th and 17th.

“Do Not Fret” was the title of Bro Tim’s message last Sunday (Ps 37:1-7).  Just because we are Christians, we cannot expect every day to be perfect.  Bad things can happen to good people; Job was an example of that remark.  Every person should realize that the devil is a real spiritual being that is powerful; he lives on this earth to play havoc with peoples’ lives.  We need to remember that God is more powerful than Satan.  Christians suffer from adversities, the same as non-Christians.  If we put our faith in God, He will see us through these problems.
