Golden Valley Christian Church

The children of GVCC presented their Christmas program Sunday, making happy memories for all.  Large murals, drawn and colored by the children, depicting scenes of the Nativity, were hung from the ceiling and used as the backdrop for the program.  It was an absolutely delightful program, under the direction of Melynne Jones, and supplemented by audience participation.  Alyssa Tucker was the narrator, while thirteen children represented different characters of the Nativity.  Sarah Mendenhall, Abrielle Jones, Olivia Tucker, Atticus Jones, Jake Mendenhall, Lauren Tucker, and Victoria Gregory sang solos, with the hand motions for all of the songs innovated by the children, themselves.  Alyssa Tucker played "Silent Night" as a piano solo.  It truly was a job well done, and our many thanks go to Melynne and the children.

The Chris Tucker family lit the first Advent candle on November 29th, with Chris and Abby Rush lighting the second candle this past Sunday.  Our next event will be the family tea, which will be this Sunday, December 13th, at 3 PM.  This is designed to be an enjoyable Christmas event for the entire family.  The committee, Judy Harris, Paula Phillips, Jo Ann Snider, and the rest of the GVCC family welcome you to attend, and will give you a warm welcome.  We were also happy, last Sunday, to welcome Sharon Bridges into our church family, when she placed her membership with us.
