The name of Alexander Graham Bell is well known as the inventor of the telephone, but how many of you are acquainted with the name, Michael Pupin? This inventor contributed to revolutionizing the telephone and radio industries with an invention that extended the range of long distance communication. This illustrates how one person can expand the work of another. This statement can also be said of Christianity, as God's people spread the words of God and Jesus.
Our Sunday School and morning message title was "The Battle Begins." This involved the Hebrew nation moving into, and fighting for, the Promised Land. The land was already inhabited, and it took many battles, including the fight for the walled city of Jericho. Not all of the battles were successful. God had promised the people they would be successful as long as they were obedient to Him. Some people were not obedient, and the Hebrew people paid the price for the few that disobeyed.
The Bible challenge question is: "What warning does Paul give people who will not work?'" (II Thessalonians 3:10)
