Golden Valley Christian Church

The wonderful, joyful Christmas season is now upon us.  This Sunday, December 7th, will be our Christmas program at the Golden Valley Christian Church.  It is such a delight to watch, as our young people will recite scripture and reenact the nativity scene.  This Sunday will also bring memories, especially for older people, which happened 73 years ago in Pearl Harbor when our nation was attacked.  One of the greatest gifts God can give us is peace, not only in our personal lives, but also for our nation.  Each of us should pray for that peace.

In our continuation of "The Story," Bro. Tim's message, entitled "Standing Tall, Falling Hard," was from the book of Samuel.  Distortion was the key word in this message, as he related how Israel rejected the evil sons of Samuel and Eli, the priest.  The sons of these men had become wicked, with no regard for the Lord, even though they claimed to love the Lord.  Against God and Samuel's wishes, Israel demanded a king, rejecting God.  Saul was appointed the first king of Israel. Christians are called to be a different kind of people, living their lives as God asks.  We should not leave our faith at the church door when we go home on Sunday mornings.

The Bible challenge question is:  "Who told Mary her elderly cousin, Elizabeth, was going to have a child?'"  (Luke 1:35-36)

The Golden Valley Christian Church meets at 611 South Third Street in Clinton.  Our Sunday Bible classes begin at 9:30 AM, and morning worship is at 10:30 AM.  Our full-time minister is Bro. Tim Randall (office phone #660-890-0252), and our website is www.goldenvalleycc.org.  We are happy to invite you to attend our services, where you will always receive a warm welcome.
