Golden Valley Christian Church

A story is told of little Rosa, visiting her adored grandmother.  Grandmother had a beautiful white carpet in her living room, and Rosa's parents had told the girl not to take anything to eat in the room.  On this occasion, the child forgot, and took her bread and jelly into the beautifully carpeted room.  Suddenly, the bread slipped out of Rosa's hand, falling, jelly-side down, on the white carpet.  Little Rosa was filled with fear as Grandmother approached her.  Stooping beside the child, Grandmother said, "It's alright dear.  We can buy more jelly."  Doesn't God have as much love and empathy for us as little Rosa had from her grandmother?

Last Sunday, GVCC enjoyed a bountiful, carry-in meal, and also observed their yearly membership meeting.  With Thanksgiving past, we are now concentrating on the Christmas activities ahead of us.  We are looking forward to the children's Christmas program on December 6th, at 10:30 AM; our family Christmas tea and caroling is the afternoon of December 13th.

Bro. Tim's message was entitled "Your Thoughts on Thanksgiving," with scripture from Acts 1:6-11.  If anyone should be grateful in the world, it should be those of us in the U.S., for the blessings God has given us.
