Golden Valley Christian Church

Last Sunday, we experienced the first snowfall of the season.  Did you know that snow is actually frozen water vapor?  Thankfully, the accumulation was small, and we still had a good turnout for services.  We observed both Thanksgiving and Christmas with a wonderful meal and great fellowship.  Thanks so much to Jo Ann, Georgia, and Tammi for the super job they do in supervising these events, and to all those bringing food and pitching in to help.  Our annual business meeting was also held, and we are happy to have two very capable young men, Austin Jones and Chris Tucker, newly elected to serve as deacons.  A church relies on the leadership of the people, and Golden Valley Christian Church is blessed with young, faithful leaders.  GVCC is also collecting paper towels for Project Christmas Cheer.

Georgia Randall blessed us with a beautiful solo of Gaither songs during our morning worship service.  Bro. Tim's message from "The Story," entitled "A Few Good Leaders," concentrated on two leaders in the Old Testament, Gideon and Samson.  Because of continuing disobedience to God, the nation of Israel, during a period of over 300 years, went through six cycles of sin and oppression, with God coming to their rescue when they turned back to Him.  We might wonder why the people did not learn from their mistakes.  Can that still be said of us today?

The Bible challenge question is:  "What event happened at Mount Hor?'"  (Numbers 20:22-29)

The Golden Valley Christian Church meets at 611 South Third Street in Clinton.  Our Sunday Bible classes begin at 9:30 AM, and morning worship is at 10:30 AM.  Our full-time minister is Bro. Tim Randall (office phone #660-890-0252), and our website is www.goldenvalleycc.org.  We are happy to invite you to attend our services, where you will always receive a warm welcome.
