Golden Valley Christian Church

Humor is one of the joys we have in this life. We also have choices. Both are examples in the following narrative: Found on a tombstone, "To he who passes by, as you are, so once was I. As I am, thou shalt be, so prepare thyself to follow me." A scrap of paper attached to the stone read, "To follow thee is not mine intent, unless I know which way thou went." Hope this brings a smile!

We want to extend our best wishes to Katie Wood on her 90th birthday. Katie's family gave her a lovely party, and a number of Katie's GVCC family was in attendance. The "I Love Sundays" series has ended, and we are now back to our normal Sunday School routine, with Ken Jones and Chris Rush leading the two adult classes.

Bro. Tim's message was entitled "What is an Elder?" with scripture from I Tim 3:1-7. The focus was on the attributes of an elder in the church. Bro. Tim also clarified the differences between the terms, elder, deacon, pastor, and their jobs.
