Women especially love diamonds.  A beautiful diamond ring is often an announcement of an engagement and approaching wedding.  However, that beautiful diamond started out as a black, dirty, piece of carbon.  Through years of heat and high pressure, the carbon crystallizes into one of the hardest substances on earth, and it can be polished into a beautifully prized gem.  This is similar to the life of a person whose life is turned around with God's guidance.  No matter how black and dirty their past is, God is capable of ridding past impurities and polishing a shining soul.

In the Sunday morning message, continuing with "The Story," Bro. Tim recalled the history of Moses, from the time of his birth until he was called by God to lead the Hebrews out of Egypt.  Bro. Tim also recalled the reluctance of Moses to follow God's command, to the point of angering God.  Eventually, of course, Moses did God's will.  It took ten plagues from God before the Egyptian Pharaoh relented, and Moses was able to lead the people from that land.  There are some major lessons we can learn from this phase in the Bible.  We may find many reasons, as Moses did, to avoid doing God's will, but in the end, God shall prevail, one way or another.

The Bible challenge question is:  "Whom did Samuel appoint as judges of Israel?'"  (I Sam 8:1&2)
