Golden Valley Christian Church

Farmers are the eternal optimists.  Each spring, they work early in the morning until late at night, planting seed, with the expectation that there will be a crop.  Their crops depend upon the weather.  Weather in Missouri is always an "iffy" situation, with droughts, hail, wind, and sometimes too much rainfall.  Yet, every spring, the positive attitude, "this will be a better year," encourages the farmer into the fields.  With such a positive attitude, what could Christians accomplish for our Lord?  It seems the possibilities could be endless.

In "The Story" series, Golden Valley Christian Church has Sunday School classes for adults and children.  The adult class has an informal setting, with a video and open discussion.  The theme of the lesson is continued into our worship service, including our Children's Church.  This past Sunday, the lesson concentrated on Joseph.  Bro. Tim focused on four events in Joseph's life:  1) Being sold by his brothers, 2) Being put in prison, 3) Being promoted to a leadership position, 4) Being reunited with his family.  Joseph had many crises while a slave, but God was always with him.  We might think Joseph had every right to be bitter and vengeful toward his brothers, but instead, he greeted them with love.  What a tremendous example Joseph should be for all of us.

The Bible challenge question is:  "What caused the Roman commander to be so upset in an incident involving the Apostle Paul?'"  (Acts 22:29)

The Golden Valley Christian Church meets at 611 South Third Street in Clinton.  Our Sunday Bible classes begin at 9:30 AM, and morning worship is at 10:30 AM.  Our full-time minister is Bro. Tim Randall (office phone #660-890-0252), and our website is www.goldenvalleycc.org.  We are happy to invite you to attend our services, where you will always receive a warm welcome.
