Golden Valley Christian Church

Looking at the fall foliage starting to turn colors, we can see God's paint brush in action.  Each season has its own particular beauty, but the autumn season really brings to mind the words, "a thing of beauty is a joy forever," penned by the poet, John Keats.

Gene McCoy will bring a free concert to Golden Valley Christian Church on Saturday, October 6th, at 7 PM.  The public is invited to this event.

The end of life is something most young people do not dwell on.  For older people, the realization that you have more time behind you than ahead of you causes you to give more thought to it.  Bro. Tim's message, "Be Ready," was relevant to the old and young alike.  The Bible tells us Jesus will return.  There are 300 references in the Bible to that fact.  When that happy event for Christians comes, there will be others that will see it as a terrifying time.  Are we prepared?  The Bible shows the way to prepare for the return of our Lord.  We know not the day or hour, but with the Bible as our guide, we will be ready for that day.

This week the Golden Valley Christian Church mourns the loss of one of its charter members, Kenneth Tuggle.  Kenneth's quiet example as a dedicated Christian will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.  With some earthly reluctance, we rejoice with the angels.

The Bible challenge question is:  "According to Jesus, the woman at the well had had how many husbands?" (John 4:17)
