Golden Valley Christian Church

The Golden Valley Christian Church recognized the mothers in our morning worship service last Sunday; they all received a little "Mother's Day" gift bag.  Many thanks go to JoAnn Snider for preparing these special gifts, and to Samantha Williams for handing them out.  Tom Pullen shared special music, singing an inspiring song, "The Upper Room."  A big day is in store for GVCC this Sunday, May 20, as we will have a special afternoon service to dedicate our newly remodeled building.  The Dedication Service will start at 1:30 PM, last approximately one hour, and refreshments will follow.  We cordially invite the public to share in this happy occasion with us.

II Timothy 1:1-5 was the scripture Bro. Tim used in his message, entitled "The Great Work of a Mother."  These verses give reference to Timothy and the faith that Timothy's mother, Eunice, and his grandmother, Lois, helped instill in him.  Bro. Tim noted how a Godly mother and grandmother made the big difference in Timothy's life.  None of us are "born" Christians; it is a choice we make as we learn about Jesus.  This is a responsibility all parents should be aware of.  The greatest work a mother can do is to teach the knowledge of God in a child's life.  "Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it." (Proverbs 22:6)

The Bible challenge question is:  "What monetary value does the Bible place on a good wife?" (Proverbs 31:10)

The Golden Valley Christian Church meets at 611 South Third Street.  Bible classes begin at 9:30 AM, and morning worship is at 10:30 AM.  Our 6 PM evening service will be cancelled this Sunday night.  Our full-time minister is Bro. Tim Randall (office phone # 660-890-0252), and our website is goldenvalleycc.org.  We are happy to invite you to attend our services, where you will always receive a warm welcome.
