Golden Valley Christian Church

Last Sunday was just plain chilly!  As the old saying goes, "You can talk about the weather, but you can't do anything about it."  It won't be long before we will be talking about the summer heat.  The beautiful rose bouquet in our sanctuary came from the grounds of our own church.  Paula Phillips, a very talented lady, arranges many of our lovely floral bouquets.  In our morning worship, Georgia Randall sang the very inspirational song, "I'd Rather Have Jesus," the tune originally written and sung by George Beverly Shea; the musical specials add so much to our worship service!  The Golden Valley Christian Church has started a four-week video series, "The Battle is the Lord's" by Tony Evans, which we view at 6:00 PM, in the fellowship hall.  Everyone is invited to this series of videos.

Bro. Tim's message, entitled "The Force of Missions," came from Acts 13:1-5.  These verses tell of the calling of Paul and Barnabas.  This call was a specific call to Paul and Barnabas, not to everyone in the room.  The two men were working, at that time, in the Antioch Church.  Missionaries are ordinary people, doing ordinary work in a church, but they can be sent by the church to do extraordinary things.  Missionaries are to be ambassadors of Christ.  We may not all be able to go to faraway countries, but all Christians can be missionaries right here at home.

The Bible challenge question is:  "What was the name of the first city where Paul and Barnabas preached?" (Acts 13:4-5)

The Golden Valley Christian Church meets at 611 South Third Street.  Bible classes begin at 9:30 AM, and morning worship is at 10:30 AM.  Evening service is at 6 PM.  Our full-time minister is Bro. Tim Randall (office phone #             660-890-0252      ), and our website is goldenvalleycc.org.  We are happy to invite you to attend our services, where you will always receive a warm welcome.
