Golden Valley Christian Church

One of our adult Sunday School classes at Golden Valley Christian Church has been studying the book of Revelation.  This book paints a pretty ugly picture for nonbelievers.  Some people have a strange way of looking at the concept of Heaven--what it is, and how we get there.  For some, it is not even a reality.  Perhaps you have heard someone say, "I don't want to go to heaven; my buddies are not there."  Really?  Maybe if their buddies were going over a dangerous cliff, they would choose to go with them.  Probably not, yet the concept is the same.  Heaven is a real place, and it should be the goal of every human on earth.

December is always a busy month.  This coming Sunday, the youngsters (and a few adults) in our church will present a Christmas program.  This is an event we all enjoy.  We are happy that we met our Thanksgiving offering goal, which will be divided between Mission to Russia and Show-Me Christian Youth Home.

Tim's message focused on the ten lepers, recorded in Luke 17:11-19.  These ten men had a life-changing event when they met Jesus.  Because of this illness, they had become outcasts, even from their own families.  It was truly a dire situation.  They were crying out for help when they met Jesus, and He cured all ten men of this horrific disease.  A Samaritan was the only one to thank and give praise to Jesus.  This should be a lesson for all of us.

The Bible challenge question:  What happened to Goliath's sword? (I Sam 21:8-9)

Golden Valley Christian Church meets at 611 South Third Street in Clinton.  Sunday Bible classes begin at 9:30 AM; morning worship is at 10:30.  Our minister is Tim Randall (office phone #660-890-0252), and our website is www.goldenvalleycc.org.  We are happy to invite you to attend our services, where you will always receive a warm welcome.
