Golden Valley Christian Church

There is a story told of a pompous city man, turned farmer, showing a young boy his land and crops.  Bragging to the young boy how he had worked from rags to riches in obtaining all the acreage and abundant crops, he boasted, "I grew it all by myself, sonny.  I started with 'nothing,' and now look at it."  "Nothing?" asked the boy.  "Nothing," answered the man.  The amazed boy said, "Wow!  My dad is a farmer, but he needs seeds to grow his crops."  Do we sometimes take credit for something, when it is  God who deserves the credit?  Ponder that thought for a moment.

This Saturday, September 13th, is scheduled as a workday at Golden Valley Christian Church.  Many hands make light work of heavy loads and get work done more quickly.

We were happy to welcome Bro. Tim and Georgia back from their vacation.  Bro. Tim's message reminded us that God owns everything in this world, and, as Christians, we are to manage what is His.  God does not actually need our tithe or donations, but if we give to Him joyfully and with love, He is there to bless us.  Giving of our money and time is meant to be a blessing for us.  God says to trust Him, and He will provide.  He will give a spiritual reward that cannot be destroyed.

The Bible challenge question is:  "What is the yeast of the Pharisees that Jesus warns against?'"  (Luke 12:1)

The Golden Valley Christian Church meets at 611 South Third Street in Clinton.  Our Sunday Bible classes begin at 9:30 AM, and morning worship is at 10:30 AM.  Our full-time minister is Bro. Tim Randall (office phone #660-890-0252), and our website is www.goldenvalleycc.org.  We are happy to invite you to attend our services, where you will always receive a warm welcome.
