Golden Valley Christian Church

When out in public, how can you tell if a person is a Christian?  Years ago, the German philosopher, Friedrich Nietzsche, said scornfully about Christians, "I would believe in their salvation if they looked a little more like people who have been saved."  Christians will be known by their actions and words.  They should be the most joyful people on earth.  If you profess to be a Christian, you might keep that in mind.

The congregation at Golden Valley Christian Church was so happy Sunday, as the building filled with worshippers.  It was a glorious day!  This Saturday, October 1, will be a work day at the church building.  Many hands make workloads easier, so the more helpers, the easier the work.  Our youth, grades 5-8, are now meeting on Sunday evenings at 6 PM.  The ladies Bible study meets on Wednesday evenings at 7 PM.  There are many activities going on as we enter the autumn season.

Bro. Tim's message, from the book of Hosea, was entitled "Where is God?"  Hosea prophesied during a spiritual illness in the nation.  There was much wrongdoing by the people, including lying, murder, stealing, and adultery.  The relationship between Hosea and his adulterous wife, Gomer, is a representative picture of God and the nation of Israel.  Is our own nation becoming like Israel of that time period?  God is where He has always been; it is the people who have turned away from God.

The Bible challenge question:  What does the Bible say is the beginning of wisdom? (Psalm 111:10)

Golden Valley Christian Church meets at 611 South Third Street in Clinton.  Sunday Bible classes begin at 9:30 AM; morning worship is at 10:30.  Our minister is Tim Randall (office phone #660-890-0252), and our website is www.goldenvalleycc.org.  We are happy to invite you to attend our services, where you will always receive a warm welcome.
