Golden Valley Christian Church

Most school-aged children do not list history as their favorite subject. To many, it is boring, filled with dates and events of long ago. It has nothing to do with them. Those who like history find it to be a fascinating subject, being the key to understanding the story of mankind. There is an old saying, "there is nothing new under the sun," referring to mankind's actions. The only difference is that, as nations develop new technology, people learn even more "new" ways of committing the same wrongdoings. While we are no longer under the dispensation of the Old Testament of the Bible, it is still the history of creation and the making of a nation to be our Savior's birthplace. It should be a "must read" for all of us.

John 1:35-42 was the scripture Bro. Tim used in his message about the Apostle Andrew. This apostle is not mentioned much in the Bible, but when he is, he is generally doing something important. It was Andrew that brought his brother, Peter, to meet Jesus. Most people who attend church for the first time, have been invited by someone who is already attending church. As with Andrew and Peter, it is our relationship with others that brings people to Jesus. As Christians, can we do any less?

The Bible challenge question: Which one of the disciples did Philip bring to Jesus? (John 1:45)
