Golden Valley Christian Church

The Fourth of July holiday is now over for 2016. Last Sunday in church, we all felt a surge of patriotism as we sang "My Country 'Tis of Thee" and "God Bless America." Atticus Jones and Jake Mendenhall handed out ribbons to honor our veterans and families of veterans. Mary Tuggle read articles about two of our best-known presidents: George Washington, who led our nation to independence, and Abraham Lincoln, the president that saved our union. Both men prayed to our Heavenly Father for guidance and help. Both of these great men should serve as an example to all of us.

The North American Christian Convention (NACC) will be held in Anaheim, California, July 12-15. Golden Valley Christian Church will be live streaming the first main session, which will feature Dave Stone, from Southeast Christian Church in Louisville, Kentucky, and Tim Tebow, former NFL quarterback. Those who would enjoy seeing this can meet in our auditorium at 9:30 PM on Tuesday, July 12th. Next year's convention will be held in Kansas City.

Bro. Tim's message revolved around the question posed to Jesus, "Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?" (Matt. 18:1) Jesus' answer was, "Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven." (Matt. 18:4) Bro. Tim pointed out that this requires trust, obedience, and humbleness. We need to live our lives in such a way that others will see Jesus in us.

The Bible challenge question: Where was Jesus going when he told the disciples of his impending death? (Matt. 20:17)

Golden Valley Christian Church meets at 611 South Third Street in Clinton. Sunday Bible classes begin at 9:30 AM; morning worship is at 10:30. We are happy to invite you to attend our services, where you will always receive a warm welcome.
