Golden Valley Christian Church

Many churches participate in a summer camp program for their young people.  The Golden Valley Christian Church is no exception.  GVCC, along with many other Independent Christian Churches, partners with the West Central Christian Service Camp at La Monte, Missouri.  Two of our young people spent some time in that camp last week.  Last Sunday, Atticus and Abrielle Jones told of their camping experiences.  Listening to the enthusiasm of both youngsters left some of the oldsters in church wanting to go to camp, too!

In the absence of our regular song leader, Georgia Randall filled in, doing a great job.  The Bible tells us that God gives each of us talents.  The devout Christian will find the talent God has given him or her, and use it to serve Him.  It does little good to have a talent and fail to use it.

"Church Killers" was the theme of Bro. Tim's message, with a scripture reference of Mark 16:15.  Bro. Tim pointed out that traditions can kill a church; some traditions are great, but we should never be so rigid that we resist sensible change.  A healthy church must have a vision for the future.  While our doctrine must not change, our methods can.  Bro. Tim reminded us how the attendance of GVCC, still a young church, has grown, and how we give the credit to God.  A healthy church never underestimates the power of prayer!

The Bible challenge question:  What was the story of the Canaanite woman's daughter? (Matt. 15:21-28)

Golden Valley Christian Church meets at 611 South Third Street in Clinton.  Sunday Bible classes begin at 9:30 AM; morning worship is at 10:30.  Our minister is Tim Randall (office phone #660-890-0252), and our website is www.goldenvalleycc.org.  We are happy to invite you to attend our services, where you will always receive a warm welcome.
