Golden Valley Christian Church

There is an oddity that exists among many Christians in one of Jesus' comments.  In Acts 20:35, Jesus is quoted to say, "It is more blessed to give than to receive."  While most of us are willing to help others, too many of us are reluctant to accept favors from others.  By refusing, we take away the blessing that another would receive.  One person, trying to help an unwilling recipient, was heard exclaiming, "You are such an ungenerous receiver."  Do not let pride keep you from allowing another person to receive their blessing from God.  Be a "gracious receiver."

Sunday morning, one of our pre-teens, Samantha Williams, sang a solo, "Because He Lives."  God has given Samantha a beautiful voice that gives joy to those listening, as she shares her talent with us.  After the morning service, many attendees enjoyed a bountiful "Chinese" fellowship meal.  Paula Phillips, Georgia Randall, and Jo Ann Snider do a terrific job of hosting the meals.  Bro. Tim's message was from Exodus 3:1-14, entitled "Accepting the Challenge."  God chose Moses as the great leader to lead the Israelites out of Egypt.  The focus of the message was Moses' reluctance in accepting God's bidding.  For each negative answer Moses gave for not wanting to go, God countered with a positive answer.  As Christians, we still have challenges today.  The example of this narrative is as relevant today as it was at the time it took place.

The Bible challenge question is:  "Why did Aaron and Miriam turn against their brother, Moses?'"  (Numbers 12:1)

The Golden Valley Christian Church meets at 611 South Third Street in Clinton.  Our Sunday Bible classes begin at 9:30 AM, and morning worship is at 10:30 AM.  Our full-time minister is Bro. Tim Randall (office phone #660-890-0252), and our website is www.goldenvalleycc.org.  We are happy to invite you to attend our services, where you will always receive a warm welcome.
