Golden Valley Christian Church

A little boy was visiting with his aunt one day when he said to her, "You are a Christian, and you love Jesus, don't you?"  The aunt smiled and said, "Yes, I do."  The little boy said, "Well, you never talk about Him."  The aunt responded, "You can love someone and not talk about them," to which the little boy answered, "But you love Grandma and Grandpa and talk about them all the time." (copied)  Can we love Jesus, but never speak His name?

Our church family was saddened by the death of Barbara Wareham, one of our faithful members.  We know Barbara is out of pain and resting in the arms of our Lord, but we will miss her.

Bro. Tim's message, entitled "Truth or Consequences," with scripture from the Gospel of John, focused on whether there are absolute truths.  Some philosophers teach there is no absolute truth--that what might be truth for one person, may not be truth for another.  There is no doubt that evil people, like Hitler and Stalin, believed in their version of the truth, so if there is no right or wrong, how could we judge people like that?  This type of thinking is pure nonsense.  Jesus' teaching is the absolute truth, and most people believe that there is right and wrong.  We need to know God's truths and hold to them.

The Bible challenge question is:  "Who was the only person to know the Lord, 'face to face?''"  (Deut. 34:10)

The Golden Valley Christian Church meets at 611 South Third Street in Clinton.  Our Sunday Bible classes begin at 9:30 AM, and morning worship is at 10:30 AM.  Our full-time minister is Bro. Tim Randall (office phone #660-890-0252), and our website is www.goldenvalleycc.org.  We are happy to invite you to attend our services, where you will always receive a warm welcome.
