Golden Valley Christian Church

For Christians, this is a joyous time of the year.  Driving around Clinton, you will see signs on lawns that happily proclaim, "He is Risen."  We certainly do not celebrate our Lord Jesus' horrific death on the cross, but that glorious Sunday that He arose!  Last Sunday, Golden Valley Christian Church celebrated Palm Sunday, with our youngsters bringing palm leaves to the front of the sanctuary.  A great celebration is planned for Easter Sunday with an invitation for you to celebrate this glorious day with us.  We will have an early service at 8:30 AM, breakfast and egg hunt at 9:15, and a very special Easter service at 10:30 AM.

Last Sunday, Bro. Tim's message from "The Story" focused on the adult life of Jesus and the beginning of His ministry, which started with Jesus' baptism at the age of thirty.  This was a rare moment when the entire trinity (God the Father, the Holy Spirit, and the Son) was on earth, at the baptism (Mark 1:9-11).  John the Baptist, a scruffy, unkempt prophet, that by today's standards would be unacceptable, introduced Jesus to the public.  God seems to enjoy surprising us in the people he uses to further His messages.  Jesus endured great temptations from Satan and adversities with the Jewish religious community.  By being human, Jesus showed us it is possible to stand up to, and overcome, the problems we face in our own lives.

The Bible challenge question is:  "Why were Jesus' legs not broken, as requested by the Jews?'"  (John 19:31-33)

The Golden Valley Christian Church meets at 611 South Third Street in Clinton.  Our Sunday Bible classes begin at 9:30 AM, and morning worship is at 10:30 AM.  Our full-time minister is Bro. Tim Randall (office phone #660-890-0252), and our website is  We are happy to invite you to attend our services, where you will always receive a warm welcome.
