Did you know Abraham was a deceiver (Gen 12:10-20)?  Did you know Moses was disobedient to God (Num 20:1-13)?  Do you think of David as being a murderer (2 Sam 11:14-15)?  These men were all stalwarts for God, but they were also sinners.  If these giants of the Bible could sin, what about us?  Thankfully, we are saved because God loved us enough to send His own Son to take our sins upon Himself.  Have you thanked God for this great gift?

Sunday was Friend Day at Golden Valley Christian Church.  After our morning service, the congregation and guests enjoyed a bountiful, delicious meal.  We all marveled that we had such a beautiful Sunday morning, with NO snow!  During our communion meditation, Ken Jones reminded us of how the communion table stretches across the world, with Christians of many nations taking part.  In honor of Friend Day, Bro Tim's message came from John 15:12-17, relaying Jesus' command to love one another.  "My command is this:  Love each other as I have loved you.  Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends." (John 15:12-13)  This is a direct command from Jesus, and our own salvation has much to do with this command.  Jesus' love for us sent Him to the cross to die for us.  He is the perfect example of love.

The Bible challenge question is:  "Who was the first apostle to see the risen Lord?'"  (I Cor 15:5)

The Golden Valley Christian Church meets at 611 South Third Street in Clinton.  Our Sunday Bible classes begin at 9:30 AM, and morning worship is at 10:30 AM.  Our full-time minister is Bro. Tim Randall (office phone #660-890-0252), and our website is www.goldenvalleycc.org.  We are happy to invite you to attend our services, where you will always receive a warm welcome.
