Equinox . . . the time at which the sun crosses the equator, heading either north or south.  At this time of year, the sun is traveling north, and we celebrate "spring," as we look forward to the renewing of the earth's botanical jewels.  The actual day occurs on March 20th, but there are already reports of tulips, hyacinths, and crocuses peeping through the ground, and some are even blooming!  When spring arrives, we know Easter is not far behind.  Golden Valley Christian Church has many plans in motion to celebrate this most significant holiday of Christian believers.

Last Sunday, the GVCC fellowship enjoyed a delicious carry-in meal.  Thanks to those who make these meals so enjoyable.  The ladies study group has begun the study of "Twelve Extraordinary Women."  The meetings are held at the church building on Wednesday evenings at 7 PM.  Georgia Randall leads the study.

Sunday was the last lesson of the Old Testament in "The Story."  Bro. Tim related the history of the last Hebrew people in captivity that returned to Jerusalem.  The job of the exiles was to rebuild (in three phases) the temple, the walls, and their lives.  The Hebrew people are now referred to, in the Bible, as Jews.  The majority of the people did not know the laws, or even the Hebrew language.  When Ezra read the scrolls to them, they needed an interpreter to understand the words.  When they heard the word, they understood it, and put it in action with great joy (Nehemiah 8:12).

The Bible challenge question is:  "What king stopped the rebuilding of Jerusalem?'"  (Ezra 4:23)

The Golden Valley Christian Church meets at 611 South Third Street in Clinton.  Our Sunday Bible classes begin at 9:30 AM, and morning worship is at 10:30 AM.  Our full-time minister is Bro. Tim Randall (office phone #660-890-0252), and our website is  We are happy to invite you to attend our services, where you will always receive a warm welcome.
