Golden Valley Christian Church

Although he could never perform in our age, Al Jolson was a very popular entertainer in his generation.  He once said, "If I do not get a good response from my audience, I do not go back to my dressing room and blame the audience.  No, instead, I say to myself, 'Al, what is wrong with you tonight?'" (copied)  When our own performance is off, maybe we should be like Al Jolson and say, "What is wrong with me?"  We each have our own faults and failures.

Our weekly Bible studies continue with the study of II John.  Contact the church office for more info if you would like to attend.

Winter still had a punch (hopefully, the last one) Sunday.  Georgia Randall brought us a beautiful, non-traditional rendition of one of our old, familiar hymns, "Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone)."  Bro. Tim's message came from II John.  John's concern about people is manifested in this short epistle.  Bro. Tim pointed out the joy John felt when he was told about the people walking in the truth and love.  John also warned the people of false teachers.  The emphasis of this letter is for people to love one another.  This is a command, not an option, for all Christians.

The Bible challenge question is:  "What was the connection between the Apostle Peter and the servant girl, Rhoda?'"  (Acts 12:13-16)

The Golden Valley Christian Church meets at 611 South Third Street in Clinton.  Our Sunday Bible classes begin at 9:30 AM, and morning worship is at 10:30 AM.  Our full-time minister is Bro. Tim Randall (office phone #660-890-0252), and our website is www.goldenvalleycc.org.  We are happy to invite you to attend our services, where you will always receive a warm welcome.
