Golden Valley Christian Church

Why is it that people do not want to go to church?  There have been many theologians attempting to tackle this problem, along with polls requesting the answer.  Just go on the internet, and pose this question.  There are dozens of answers, depending on each individual answering.  The excuses go on and on, but the simple fact is that there are a multitude of people who simply do not want to be involved in any church.  This is not a new problem, nor will it be solved by man.  This does not mean we are not to be actively encouraging friends and neighbors to learn more about God.  Jesus tells us, “small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life (heaven), and only a few find it.” (Matt 7:14)

The weather was so beautiful last Sunday.  Most of us are in awe at so much warm weather in the middle of winter.  After welcoming two new members into our church family, the Golden Valley Christian Church enjoyed a basket dinner, with all of our tables full.  Thanks to those who organized the meal, brought the food, and cleaned up afterwards.  Bro. Tim’s message was taken from the first chapter of Galatians.  This chapter highlighted some of Paul’s concerns in the Galatian church.  The problem was some of the teachings that conflicted with the teachings of Jesus.  One thing that can kill a church is changing the gospel—the teaching of God, through His son, Jesus.  We are saved by faith; however, the only way that faith is proved is by obeying the commandments of God.  We don’t change the gospel; the gospel changes us.

The Bible challenge question:  Which disciple asked, “Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth?” (John 1:46)

Golden Valley Christian Church meets at 611 South Third Street in Clinton.  Sunday Bible classes begin at 9:30 AM; morning worship is at 10:30.  Our minister is Tim Randall (office phone #660-890-0252), and our website is www.goldenvalleycc.org.  We are happy to invite you to attend our services, where you will always receive a warm welcome.
