Golden Valley Christian Church

Although we have been in a wintertime deep freeze, Spring really is on its way.  In a little more than a week, we will be turning our clocks ahead in daylight saving time, and the Vernal Equinox (Spring) will take place in approximately three weeks.  So, take heart, this cold weather will eventually pass.  This Sunday, March 1st, we will be celebrating "Friend Day" at Golden Valley Christian Church.  "Twelve Extraordinary Women," written by John McArthur, is the topic of the ladies Bible study, meeting at the church on Wednesday nights, at 7 PM.  We are also collecting Best Choice labels for the Door of Hope.  Participation in any of these activities will be a blessing.

Bro. Tim's message, "Daniel in Exile," was a continuation of "The Story."  Daniel is a well-known figure from the Old Testament and a personality that stood up for his beliefs.  Taken into exile with three of his friends, all four young men faced difficulties with the Babylonian regime.  Because they refused to serve the Babylonian god and bow to a manmade idol, Daniel's three friends were thrown into a red-hot furnace.  Later, under the Medes and Persians, Daniel was thrown into a hungry lion's den.  God was with them, and none of the four were harmed in any way.  King Darius, the Mede, issued a command that all of his kingdom should revere the God of Daniel.  Daniel is a great example for all of us.

The Bible challenge question is:  "What were the names of the twelve apostles?'"  (Matthew 10:2-4)

The Golden Valley Christian Church meets at 611 South Third Street in Clinton.  Our Sunday Bible classes begin at 9:30 AM, and morning worship is at 10:30 AM.  Our full-time minister is Bro. Tim Randall (office phone #660-890-0252), and our website is www.goldenvalleycc.org.  We are happy to invite you to attend our services, where you will always receive a warm welcome.
