Golden Valley Christian Church

If you are a parent, do you remember when your child took their first steps?  Many of us grabbed a camera to capture that precious moment.  Those little legs were very unsteady, and that little one felt some fear, taking those first steps.  The falls that came with it were inevitable, but mother or dad was there to give a helping hand.  As confidence grew, so did the steps, until those little legs were not only walking, but running.  This is the picture of a Christian as they grow in their steps with the Lord.  No matter how many times we stumble and fall, if we have faith, our Lord is always there to help us up.

The Golden Valley Christian Church youngsters gave us all joy as we watched their Christmas program last Sunday morning.  The setting was a courtroom, to prosecute the shepherds for peace disturbance on the night of Jesus' birth.  There were witnesses, a prosecutor, a defense attorney, a judge, and a bailiff, along with Mary, Joseph, the baby Jesus, angels, sheep, more shepherds, and wise men.  When the verdict for the shepherds was read, it was a resounding "not guilty."  We all say "well done" to Melynne Jones and all of her helpers.  GVCC is blessed to have so many young people to help us remember what Christmas is all about.  Next Sunday evening, we will have our annual caroling event at 5:00, when we will share songs of good news with several of our friends and neighbors.

The Bible challenge question:  What was the new commandment Jesus gave His followers? (John 13:34-35)

Golden Valley Christian Church meets at 611 South Third Street in Clinton.  Sunday Bible classes begin at 9:30 AM; morning worship is at 10:30.  Our minister is Tim Randall (office phone #660-890-0252), and our website is www.goldenvalleycc.org.  We are happy to invite you to attend our services, where you will always receive a warm welcome.
