Golden Valley Christian Church

A news clip on the television recently told of the celebrities who had passed away this year.  Of course, it did not mention the thousands of other folks that also passed away.  Did many of these people think, at the beginning of 2016, they would not be here to celebrate the new year of 2017?  This is something that most of us do not ponder at the beginning of the year.  We are busy making resolutions (that will be discarded in a few weeks) and plans for the coming year.  Now would be the ideal time to consider our relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, and how to strengthen it as the year progresses.  It is the most important decision we can make.

There always seems to be a "let down" after Christmas.  The flurry of activities is diminishing in most of our lives, including churches.  Bro. Tim has a "read-through-the-Bible" plan for 2017.  Our prayer list seems to grow longer, and people are encouraged to keep these individuals in their prayers.  On January 8th, Golden Valley Christian Church will be ordaining the recently elected Elders in our church.

Bro. Tim's message, "How to Find It," focused on what people are actually searching for.  The Magi were searching for Jesus, which could have taken up to two years.  The first thing they did when they found Him was to bow down to Him.  The Bible tells us there will be a day when all people will bow to Jesus.  Putting God first should be everyone's priority.  As we put Him first in our lives, all other things will fall in place, and our searching will be complete.

The Bible challenge question:  How were the words of the prophet Jeremiah fulfilled in the New Testament? (Matt 2:16-18)

Golden Valley Christian Church meets at 611 South Third Street in Clinton.  Sunday Bible classes begin at 9:30 AM; morning worship is at 10:30.  Our minister is Tim Randall (office phone #660-890-0252), and our website is www.goldenvalleycc.org.  We are happy to invite you to attend our services, where you will always receive a warm welcome.
