Golden Valley Christian Church

With Thanksgiving over, we are now officially in the Christmas season.  Many merchants began displaying their Christmas merchandise before Halloween.  Even Black Friday has now been moved up to start in some stores on Thanksgiving Day.  Have we become such a materialistic, secular nation that even our most precious holidays will no longer be esteemed?  If this trend continues, we may even see "after Christmas" sales on Christmas Day itself.  Hopefully, this will never happen!

Last Sunday, Golden Valley Christian Church enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving meal with turkey, ham, and all the trimmings.  After the bountiful meal, our annual meeting was held, concluding with the election of three elders, who each received unanimous approval.

During the morning service, a number of responses were given when our worship leader asked what we had to be thankful for.  Listening to the answers helped us all to realize how much we are blessed.  Bro. Tim's message, with scripture from I Thess 5:18, was entitled "Why Should We Be Thankful?"  We were reminded how good it is in our country, compared to the rest of the world.  Instead of complaining, we should look at the many things we have and be thankful for such blessings.  We can never give too many thanks to God for what He has given us.
