Golden Valley Christian Church

As you read the Bible, do you notice the type of people Jesus called to be His friends and disciples?  Matthew was a hated tax collector.  Peter was impetuous and not always loyal to Jesus.  Paul played havoc with the Christian community.  Yet, all of these men had a similar belief, and Jesus loved them.  Today many Christians possess character flaws, but Jesus still loves them.  Why?  Read John 15:9-12.

Last Sunday morning, Ken and Marla Jones brought a very nice morning special, harmonizing on a beautiful song, "One Quiet Moment."  We are so blessed to have such willing talent in our church.  Even though Thanksgiving (the holiday) is over, Bro. Tim pointed out that we should have an attitude of thanksgiving every day.  Three points were used to illustrate how to do this:  1) Looking out--How many of us deserve the blessings God gives us?  2) Looking in--Who controls us, good or evil?  3) Looking up--We always have an advocate in Jesus.  By realizing these options, we can take control of our attitude and have a "thankful heart."

This Sunday, December 2nd, at 10:30 a.m., the children of our church, under the direction of Rosanna Cross, will bring their Christmas program, and a noon meal will follow.  We invite you to attend.

The Bible challenge question is:  "What article did Ahimelech, the priest, give to David that had belonged to Goliath?"  (I Samuel 21:8-9)

The Golden Valley Christian Church meets at 611 South Third Street in Clinton.  Our Sunday Bible classes begin at 9:30 AM, and morning worship is at 10:30 AM.  Our full-time minister is Bro. Tim Randall (office phone #660-890-0252), and our website is www.goldenvalleycc.org.  We are happy to invite you to attend our services, where you will always receive a warm welcome.
