Golden Valley Christian Church

This past Sunday was a very special day for the Golden Valley Christian Church.  Five years ago on that day, we had our first service in the newly purchased building that we still occupy. To have our own building was a goal of this newly-formed congregation.  While the sanctuary was being remodeled, the congregation met in the dining room of the building.  In remembrance of that period of time, we once again met in the dining room.  The majority of our chairs filled as people came to worship.  After the services, cake and punch were served.  It was a wonderful day of reminiscing.

During the service, Richard Blake, representing Christian Prison Ministries of Missouri, brought an update of the work being done by that organization.  We were heartened by the results from that work.  Paula Phillips, Georgia Randall, Rosanna Cross, and Laura Mendenhall, singing in a double duet, blessed us with the beautiful song, "One Day at a Time."

Bro. Tim's message was taken from Habakkuk 2:1-4.  People were ignoring God in the time of this prophet's life.  God told Habakkuk of the coming destruction of Judah and that the righteous will live by faith.  This is a lesson worth telling today.  The vision, or the lack of it, will determine the path we take.  Bro. Tim pointed out that God's people are to be the headlights to lead the way.

The Bible challenge question:  After King Solomon's death, which tribe remained loyal to his son, King Rehoboam? (1 Kings 12:20)

Golden Valley Christian Church meets at 611 South Third Street in Clinton.  Sunday Bible classes begin at 9:30 AM; morning worship is at 10:30.  Our minister is Tim Randall (office phone #660-890-0252), and our website is www.goldenvalleycc.org.  We are happy to invite you to attend our services, where you will always receive a warm welcome.
