Golden Valley Christian Church

Is it possible that when everybody is wrong, that wrong becomes right?  A case in point was at an NCAA Division II national championship race.  A running course had been set up for the race, but about half-way through the race, the majority of runners missed a turn.  One runner, Mike Delcavo, caught the misstep and yelled at his fellow runners that they had missed the turn, but only four runners followed Mike.  The five finally reunited with the other runners, but were at the very back.  Going the wrong way had shortened the official course by a half-mile.  Instead of penalizing the large group, the officials unfairly changed the course route to conform with the large group of runners.  Christians must stay on the right path (Prov 4:26-27).

GVCC is helping Project Christmas Cheer by collecting cans of peaches; there are three Sundays left to contribute to this worthwhile project.  This Sunday, Richard Blake, from the Missouri Prison Ministry, will be here to give us an update.

Last Sunday, all of our attendees were blessed by Bob Fenwick’s solo, “Oh What a Savior.” “Who is Jesus?” was the title of Tim’s message, from the third chapter of Mark.  The Jewish leaders had made many “laws,” especially about doing any kind of work on the Sabbath.  They were constantly trying to trick Jesus into disobeying these man-made laws.  Healing a man with a shriveled hand was one of these instances (Mk 3:1-6).  This chapter is rich in information of naming the twelve apostles, and Jesus identifying His mother and siblings.  We must make a decision to live for Jesus and spread His Word.

The Bible challenge question:  Name two women who refused to obey an order of the King of Egypt. (Ex 1:15-21)
