Golden Valley Christian Church

"Good things come to those who wait" is an old saying that certainly applies to the Golden Valley Christian Church.  This week we celebrate the first wedding in our church building--the wedding of Sarah Church and Dale Lara II.  On Thursday, June 21st, the ladies of our church held a beautiful bridal shower for Sarah.  Paula Phillips and Judy Harris did a great job in taking care of the details of the shower.  Rosanna Cross and Tammi Williams presented a few games that gave us all some hardy chuckles.  Sarah received some nice gifts plus the well wishes of all attending.  It was a very lovely evening with God's love filling the room.

In our Sunday worship service, Georgia Randall brought our morning musical special, singing "Broken and Spilled Out."  God has bestowed on Georgia a beautiful singing voice that blesses all that listen.  Bro. Tim's sermon was entitled "David's Example in Confession."  The Bible tells us ". . . we have all sinned and fall short of the glory of God . . ."  God wants and expects us to confess our sin.  Unconfessed and unforgiven sin can lead to all kinds of health issues; also, confession of sin is the center of God's plan for salvation.  There are three kinds of sin:  1) Sins of commission--when we are aware of our wrongdoing, 2) Sins of omission--when we fail to do what God would have us to do, and 3) Sins of conscience--when we do something we believe in our heart is wrong.  Sometimes admitting and confessing our wrongdoing is difficult, but is necessary in the eyes of God.

The Bible challenge question is:  "What did Festus think was happening to the apostle Paul?" (Acts 26:24)

The Golden Valley Christian Church meets at 611 South Third Street.  Our Sunday Bible classes begin at 9:30 AM, morning worship is at 10:30 AM, and evening study is at 6:00 PM.  Our full-time minister is Bro. Tim Randall (office phone # 660-890-0252), and our website is goldenvalleycc.org.  We are happy to invite you to attend our services, where you will always receive a warm welcome.
